Let's talk

Once an Irish poet, Oscar Wilde said “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” A beautiful illustration of optimism this is!!

What do you think she meant? Well! Gutter doesn’t mean the literal gutter, it imparts our own set of problems. Oscar Wilde is trying to convey that the optimistic people are figuring a way out from their problems by looking at the brighter side whereas the pessimistic ones are drenching themselves down more. Pessimists often overthink and make things even more complicated. Looking at the darker side of the issue, and always anticipating an undesirable outcome is what they do often.

So, pessimism is not going to help you the most. Yet there are some rare situations where some pessimists benefit from their low hopes, when there are no hopes there are fewer chances of getting hurt. Let’s get to optimism and its benefits.

Don’t you think it is necessary to be optimistic? I say it is good to cherish what life has in store for you and make most of the challenges it has put forth.

The advantages of possessing optimism are as follows:

Optimists are self-motivated, self-confident, and self-driven. The cheerful attitude and the potentiality of seeing good in every obstacle they come across lends them a hand in achieving success

Optimists maintain good relationships:

Let it be personal or intimate, an optimist excels in a relationship by holding on to it. They trust others and are believers in second chances.
