Let's talk

Coronavirus disease is associated with anxiety, stress and suspicion – and these feelings are intense with all children of all ages. Although children deal with these feelings differently, if your child faces school closures, cancellation of activities and separation from friends, they needs your love and support more than ever. Today we have give you tips on how to get close to your children in lockdown

Be calm and proactive.

Your children (and you too) should prepare for the possibility of developing symptoms like those of a common cold or flu. And tell them that they don’t have to be overly afraid of this. Parents should encourage children to inform them if they feel unwell or worried about the virus so that parents can help.

“Adults should understand how children feel angry and anxious about COVID-19, as it is normal. Confirm over and over to your children that the disease caused by infection with Covid-19 will usually have moderate symptoms, especially in children and young adults. The doctor adds, saying that it is important to remember that many of the symptoms of Covid-19 can be treated, “From this point, we can remind our children that there are many meaningful things we can do to keep ourselves and others safe and to feel that we can control the situation. And its conditions include washing hands frequently, not touching our face, and applying physical distancing.

Go on with your normal life.

A playtime where the child can use their phone to communicate with their friends. Simultaneously, there should be hours without technology and some time to help out with the housework. We have to keep what we value most and make plans to continue with it. Children will relax a lot if their day is planned. They know when to work and when to play.

The doctor also suggests getting your children to join you in what you do. Parents must arrange matters according to priorities, such as completing homework and the required tasks.

“Support them and expect that they are very sad and very frustrated and often miss what they used to be.”

Let your children express their feelings.

With the closure of schools, activities, parties, sports matches and activities were cancelled, children were disappointed with losing what they used to be due to Corona disease. Support them, and never be surprised that they are so sad and frustrated because of the things they lost, and are crying them now. When you think they are experiencing these feelings, your sympathy and support for them is the correct behaviour in this case and help you get close to your children.

Check with them what they hear.

There is much misleading information circulating about the Coronavirus (that causes Covid-19 disease). “Look for what your child hears or thinks is true. Informing your children of the facts is not enough. If they took inaccurate information, and you are ignorant of what is going on in their minds and did not correct what they drew, they combined the recent report you told them with the old information they know. Find what your children learn to make a starting point for getting them into the right course.

Many children are exposed to bullying and abuse at school or online for things related to Coronavirus. Your children need to know that you are always there for them if they experience any bullying.

Do things that appeal to them.

When dealing with difficult emotions, There is nothing wrong with teenagers allowing unrestricted use of their electronic devices but without extravagance. Ask your son or teenage daughter, ‘How are we going to solve this issue? Can you come up with a plan for your day and show it to me? Then I’ll tell you what I think. “

Watch your behaviour

Children depend on their parents to feel safe and secure. “It is important to remember that they are the passengers in this ordeal, and we are the ones driving the cart. Accordingly, this feeling must not leak to them if we are concerned, hindering their sense of safety during their journey.

Give More time to your Children :

Do your parents frequently complain that you are not spending enough time together. They are likely to feel closed out of your life if you shut in your area.

Establish a daily time slot to talk to them. It might be overnight tea or post. Communicate this opportunity. Talk about things. Anything trivial. Exactly what your professor mentioned today in class, what your buddies do to occult themselves, something interesting that you read about, etc.. This is going to make your parents feel connected to you personally.

The lockdown is a chance to strengthen your bond and get close to your children. You might not ever get this type of opportunity. Could you take advantage of it?
