A universal fact- everyone has their own formula for happiness. For instance, for your neighbour, Mrs. Smith, it may be her being able to spend time with her grandchildren, for your other neighbour, Mr. Namdhari, it may be to be able to make a six-figure salary every month. And for you? Well, you ought to know that better than anyone else, right? I’m of the opinion that the formula for happiness need not be a hefty one, for someone has very rightly said- happiness is in little or small things!
Most people nowadays think that true happiness lies in a materialistic lifestyle full of exotic cars, insane closets, lavish penthouses, and whatnot. However, if you’re not too avaricious, chances are you realize that no one carries anything to their grave and that true happiness lies in little, small, and moderate things.
The question that we should be asking ourselves in this crazy world of today is not how to succeed in becoming the richest within your circle but how to attain an easy-going life with enough time for friends and family and how to make it all count.
Small things that might matter in one’s life:
- That wonderful mini dance party with loud music.
- That perfect cup of tea, with every ingredient’s quantity just right.
- A hearty conversation with a loved one.
- Acknowledgement of your hard work.
- A stroll alongside the riverbed.
- Working out.
- Eating healthy.
- Cooking yourself.
- An amazing and action-packed night out with your buddies.
- Watching a nice movie, all curled up under that comfy blanket.
Happiness in little or small things
These are the small, day-to-day things that make the most difference in our lives, and yet, somehow, we don’t appreciate them enough while we still can. Maybe, that is why the whole idea of carpe diem has become so common because people surely talk about it, but not everyone can successfully pull it off.
